Latest Update: White Sox Trade Rumors Swirl Amidst Team’s On-Field Success with Pitching Enhancement under Spotlight.

The White Sox have already initiated trade discussions this season, despite the trade deadline being more than two months away. According to MLB insider Bob Nightengale, a potential new addition to the White Sox roster has emerged as a top priority.

In a column published on Sunday, Nightengale highlighted starter Chris Flexen as a particularly enticing trade asset for the White Sox. Flexen’s recent performance, boasting a 1.61 ERA in his last five appearances across three starts, has significantly bolstered his trade value, especially considering his modest $1.75 million salary.

Flexen was signed to a one-year deal last December by the White Sox, who were seeking pitchers capable of logging substantial innings this season.

Despite a disappointing 12-28 record before Sunday’s game against the Guardians, the White Sox are already well out of playoff contention for this season. Consequently, they are anticipated to be active in trading players. Alongside Flexen, players like Michael Kopech, Eloy Jiménez, Tommy Pham, Erick Fedde, and Mike Clevinger are rumored to be available for trade.

Just last week, the team traded Robbie Grossman to the Rangers in exchange for minor league pitcher Anthony Hoopii-Tuionetoa.

The White Sox underwent a significant overhaul last season as well. In 2023, they parted ways with several key players, including Jake Burger, Lucas Giolito, Kendall Graveman, Joe Kelly, Reynaldo López, and Lance Lynn. Additionally, they traded ace Dylan Cease to the Padres before the start of this season.

With the MLB trade deadline set for July 30, the White Sox have ample time to assess and potentially execute further trades to reshape their roster.
