Recently, the Ohio State football team has experienced significant success in recruiting, securing four major commitments over the past weekend alone. The coaching staff is optimistic that this momentum will continue with the announcement of four-star defensive lineman Landon Rink’s commitment today. However, there’s a degree of uncertainty, and I doubt that Larry Johnson and his team are overly confident.
Currently, Rink holds the position of the 315th player in the 2025 recruiting class and ranks as the 36th defensive lineman according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Hailing from Cypress, Texas, he is regarded as the 53rd best player in the state. Despite receiving offers from 40 schools, including Ohio State, his decision appears to be narrowed down to three options: Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Ohio State.
Rink visited Columbus during the weekend of March 18 and has scheduled an official visit to Penn State in June. Additionally, he has visited USC and Texas A&M. His recent visit to College Station suggests a potential inclination towards that school.

Presently, Rink holds five crystal ball predictions on 247Sports, all of which favor the Aggies. Notably, Ohio State recruiting expert Bill Kurelic logged one of these predictions on Tuesday afternoon. Kurelic’s endorsement adds weight to the likelihood of Rink’s decision leaning towards Texas A&M. Barring any significant surprises or misdirection from Rink, it seems improbable that there will be any celebratory announcements coming from Ohio State’s recruiting headquarters at 10 a.m. ET when Rink makes his commitment.
Quick Hits:
Over the weekend, amidst the flurry of exciting commitments, Ohio State garnered a crystal ball prediction for UMass running back Kay’Ron Lynch-Adams. Despite playing three seasons with the Minute Men and two with Rutgers, he still has one remaining season of eligibility, courtesy of a red-shirt and a COVID bonus year.
Hailing from Warren G. Harding High School in northeast Ohio, Lynch-Adams would find a sense of homecoming with Ohio State. In the 2023 season, he showcased his prowess by rushing for 1,157 yards and 12 touchdowns on 236 carries, in addition to gaining 118 receiving yards. While Ohio State’s running back roster is already brimming with talent, including Treveyon Henderson, Quinshon Judkins, and the promising Dallan Hayden, the potential departure of Hayden following spring practice could create an opening for a seasoned back to serve as a bridge between current and future stars.
The crystal ball endorsement for Lynch-Adams came from UMass insider Mike Traini, so it’s wise to approach it with cautious optimism. However, if reputable analysts like Kurelic, Wiltfong, or Helwagen begin echoing similar predictions, it may warrant serious consideration.
In other news, four-star safety Jadyn Hudson announced on Tuesday that he has narrowed his college choices down to four schools: Ohio State, Tennessee, UCLA, and USC. Despite receiving two crystal ball predictions favoring the Oregon Ducks in February, they did not make the cut for his finalists.
