The Arizona Diamondbacks asserted their dominance over the San Francisco Giants in a resounding 17-1 victory, leveling the series as Jordan Montgomery made his debut with Arizona.

The early stages of the game were marked by a subdued atmosphere as both teams’ pitchers showed resilience. However, the Diamondbacks seized control in the third inning when Ketel Marte’s single to left drove in Blaze Alexander, signaling the beginning of an explosive offensive display for Arizona.

As the game progressed into the fourth inning, the Diamondbacks started to distance themselves. A double by Alexander brought Eugenio Suárez home, effectively doubling their lead. The onslaught continued in the fifth inning, with Randal Grichuk’s double driving in Suárez and Christian Walker, extending the lead to 5-1.

Although the Giants briefly countered with a solo home run by Jorge Soler in the bottom of the fourth, their scoring efforts faltered thereafter. Montgomery’s debut proved near-flawless as he limited San Francisco to just four hits over six innings on the mound.

In the seventh inning, after Moreno’s double to center drove in two runs, Blaze Alexander delivered a decisive blow with his first career grand slam. This monumental hit brought home Walker, Alek Thomas, and Gabriel Moreno, extinguishing any hopes of a Giants’ comeback.

Alexander concluded the game with a strong performance, going 3 for 5 at the plate and driving in five runs, boosting his season batting average to .348.

Jordan Montgomery made an impressive debut, supported by robust pitching and a formidable offensive effort from his teammates. Despite facing the formidable Blake Snell, a two-time Cy Young winner, the Diamondbacks amassed 22 hits, with Ketel Marte leading the charge with four hits from the leadoff position.

The 22 hits recorded by Arizona equaled a franchise record, previously achieved against the Phillies on August 23rd, 2013.

Looking ahead, the Diamondbacks will take the field tomorrow at 1:05 for their next game, aiming to sustain their momentum with ace Zac Gallen set to start on the mound.
