The Minnesota Twins have added another player from the controversial 2017 Houston Astros team. According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the Twins have inked a minor-league contract with veteran outfielder Tony Kemp, who is 32 years old.
Kemp, who began his career with the Astros and was part of their World Series victory in 2017 alongside current Twins shortstop Carlos Correa, has since played for the Chicago Cubs, Oakland Athletics, and Baltimore Orioles after being traded by Houston.
Known for his speed on the bases and exceptional defensive skills, Kemp was recently designated for assignment by the Orioles to make room for the promotion of top prospect Jackson Holliday. Despite this, Kemp handled the situation with grace and professionalism, even offering kind words for Holliday. Now, he looks forward to seizing this new opportunity with the Twins.
