Latest News: Cardinals managers engage in an unforgettable Brawl with Oakland A’s security guard

A potential new rivalry seems to be emerging in baseball between St. Louis Cardinals manager Oli Marmol and the security guards of the Oakland A’s.

During a game at Oakland Coliseum in California, Marmol became visibly agitated and ended up pulling at the collar of one of the A’s security guards. The incident occurred while the Cardinals were leading 3-0 over the A’s in the top of the 7th inning. Marmol was contemplating challenging a call made by the second base umpire, who had ruled Cardinals DH Brendan Donovan out.

However, as Marmol was awaiting clarification on whether to challenge the call, a security guard obstructed his path. This prompted Marmol to grab the guard by the collar and engage in a brief confrontation. This altercation possibly contributed to a delay in the Cardinals’ decision to challenge the play.

The security guard appeared to be innocuously walking onto the field, presumably as part of his duties in the stadium. Nevertheless, Marmol reacted aggressively towards him, catching the guard off guard with his sudden hostility.

Despite the unexpected involvement of a security guard, the A’s ultimately fell short, losing 3-1 to the Cardinals.
