In 2022, Zay Jones departed from the Las Vegas Raiders after securing a lucrative deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Despite having a year remaining on his contract, the Raiders opted to release him this offseason. However, he has now secured a new opportunity. As per a May 10 post by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Jones is set to sign a contract with the Arizona Cardinals.

Jones drew interest from multiple NFL teams, including visits with the Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans, before ultimately choosing the Cardinals as his next destination. Despite facing challenges in the previous season, where he missed seven games due to injury, the former second-round pick had a productive tenure with the Raiders, starting in 18 games over three seasons. His debut season with the Jaguars was notably successful, amassing 82 catches and 823 receiving yards.
At 29 years old, Jones still has potential for several fruitful seasons ahead. The Cardinals, although enduring tough seasons recently, now boast a healthy Kyler Murray and have added Marvin Harrison Jr. through the draft. Given his suitability as a No. 2 or No. 3 wide receiver, Jones appears to be a good fit for Arizona’s roster.
