The top pitcher for the Diamondbacks is currently dealing with a hamstring problem that he picked up during a game against the Mariners on April 26th. With Arizona already contending with several significant injuries, such as Eduardo Rodriguez and Merrill Kelly being on the 60-day injured list, manager Torey Lovullo is being careful not to rush his star pitcher back into action.

So far this season, Gallen has maintained a 3.38 ERA over six starts, recording 35 strikeouts in 32 innings. He has been especially impressive when playing at home, conceding only one earned run in 17 innings.
