The Milwaukee Brewers continue to face adversity with injuries. On the day they revealed Wade Miley would join DL Hall, Jakob Junis, and Brandon Woodruff on the injured list, a bizarre incident during batting practice led to Junis, who was in rehab, being hospitalized via ambulance.
Jakob Junis suffered a blow to the neck from a fly ball during batting practice and was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
Before the Brewers and Pirates’ opening game, both teams were on the field for warm-ups. Jakob Junis was doing some conditioning along the warning track when he was struck in the neck by a fly ball. According to reports, he remained down for 15-20 minutes but was responsive. He was subsequently taken to the hospital by ambulance for additional testing and monitoring.

The Milwaukee Brewers had already placed Jakob Junis on their injured list.
During the offseason, Jakob Junis inked a $7.00 million guaranteed deal with the Brewers. Unfortunately, he landed on the injured list due to a shoulder problem after just one start. While his recovery seemed promising, this latest injury may extend his absence beyond initial expectations.
Brewers need to acquire more starting pitchers
Milwaukee has already seen eight different pitchers start games for them this season. Tobias Myers is a probable candidate for an upcoming start, Bryse Wilson could make another spot start, and prospect Robert Gasser is reportedly in consideration as well. While acquiring pitchers via trade is a possibility down the road, the Brewers might opt to exhaust their internal options early in the season, hoping to find a stable contributor among them.
