White Sox achieve a regrettable accomplishment not witnessed since 1901.

This season, the Chicago White Sox appear to be hitting a new low.

On Friday, the White Sox suffered a 7-0 shutout against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

This shutout loss marked the White Sox’s third in their last six games and their seventh of the season in their first 19 contests. This unfortunate record is unmatched by any other team since 1901.

The White Sox have only scored a total of 38 runs, placing them at the bottom of the MLB rankings by a significant margin. As of Friday, they have scored 20 runs fewer than the Oakland A’s, who occupy the 29th spot in the rankings, and whose organizational challenges are well-documented.

Additionally, the White Sox suffered a setback when their top hitter, Yoan Moncada, was sidelined with a serious left adductor strain. Moncada, who led the team with a .282 batting average, was placed on the 60-day injured list earlier this week.

Despite Moncada’s strong performance at the plate, he failed to record any RBIs in the 11 games he played this season. Furthermore, the White Sox’s primary starting lineup has collectively hit below the Mendoza line as they enter their 20th game of the season.
